The aim of the site is for me to document and recall the progress in renovating the house. We have 3 bedrooms, well 4 if you were to remove all my wife's shoes, one upstairs bathroom, one downstairs toilet and separate washroom, a laundry room, kitchen and dining room, one small living room (of course small is relative, it's about 5m x 8m and 5m high), and one large living room (again it's relative but this one is about 15m long, 8m wide and about 10m high), then there is the hall stairs and landing ohhh and of course the cellar, though whether that will get renovated or converted is anyone's guess...... The windows are all single glazing and the French doors do leak a little, there's no central heating and in fact in the big room, we rely on a wood-burner to heat it up in the winter!!! The whole renovation process could take some time, I work full time and frequently away from home so doing work in the evenings is often out of the question, and weekends I can't spend all my time doing the house up, so the whole process may take a few years to complete, for instance the first room I started back in October 2016 and I still haven't finished removing all the loose plaster or chasing the cables into the wall, but it's moving alone at a steady pace... Parts of the house are about 500 years old, the last time I believe it was substantially renovated was at the turn of the 20th Century, since then it has been decorated and had cosmetic work done, but nothing substantial. As the renovations progress I will update the site with progress including pictures, maybe video and descriptions of the work being done.
