It may appear I've not done much this weekend, well in part that's because I didn't get home from my customer until 6PM on Saturday, so didn't attempt to do any work on the house on Saturday.

Having got up fed the chickens, taken the dogs for a walk, one of them on a lead because she managed to badly cut her stomach last week and has stitches in, and is not allowed to jump or run around, I then started work on the room.

First off I made up a mixture of 50:50 water and PVA glue, applied this to all the chases I have cut out and fitted the conduit and relevant socket/switch boxes too the wall, the idea of using the PVA glue mixture is it seals the brick and the old plaster so it doesn't immediately soak up the water in the cement mix and so allows the cement to attach to the wall.

I only really managed this one section, it used nearly a whole 6KG bag of rapid drying cement mix, and when I say rapid drying it starts going off after about 5-10 minutes so you have to only mix small amounts, but all in all I think it has done a good job in filling in the chase and getting it ready to be plastered.

A close up of the light switch back can be seen here.
