April 2019

Finally after 2 1/2 years the room is finished, it's been painted Pebble Shore and Denim Drift the wood work and walls are all the same colour (Pebble Shore) and one wall is a "feature wall" that one was painted Denim Drift.

There are many differing opinions on the use of a paint sprayer to apply the pain, however, I did use a paint sprayer to paint the walls, it does take time to mask off the areas you don't want the paint to apply to, however, the finish is so much smoother, in my opinion than I'd get from a brush or roller.

It's been a real experience, especially learning how to plaster and using the paint sprayer, so much so I've moved onto a slighlty more challenging project next, that being fitting a new kitchen.

Painted door

Not much to add here, except I replaced all the glass in the window, the old glass was frosted (presumably for privacy reasons, but how many people commonly walk along a narrow gulley between the wall of the room and the roof of the "big room", only me really), so replaced the old glass that was barely 2mm thick with 4mm thick glass which, and I know it's not been cold recently, but it has made the rooom feel warmer.

Painted wall and window

Where it all started, i.e. this was the first wall I stripped, plastered but it wasn't the first one I painted.

Painted wall

The "feature wall" in Denim Drift. Probably the fidlliest wall to do, it was the first one to be painted, but when I came to do the door and skirting board I had to mask off the wall, which a) took time and b) removed some of the paint when I took the masking tape off so I had to touch it up.

Full circle of the room.

I actually think I managed to do a reasonably good job, and hopefully the kitchen will turn out as good.
