Since June, not a massive amount has happened, health issues have meant I've had to slow down a little.

What I have done since the end of June is fit the plasterboard, then fit the new lights and put plasterboard joint tape over the joints between the boards, the first attempt all the tape fell off after a couple of days, so like with the bedroom I'd already painted the walls in a 50:50 PVA glue/water mixture, so applied the same mixture to the ceiling and reapplied the tape, these images have been taken at least 2 months after I did this and as you can see the tape is still in place.

Correct there are gaps in the board, turns out the room isn't square, i.e. the corners between walls are not 90 degrees so there are gaps between the boards in places, the larger ones I had to fill in with off cuts of the board, but the smaller gaps like the one you can see here I've just put tape over the intention being the plaster will have something to bind to when I apply it.

Intention is to get on with the plastering in January (2020) assuming my health is up to it....

View of the ceiling from the other end of the room can be seen here.
