This was taken before I started so I can remember what it looked like. The small door to the left is a cupboard built into the wall, intention is to cover this, thus making the cupboard unusable, but since there will be a worktop that comes to about half way up the door, the cupboard would be pretty useless anyway, the innards will be left intact so in future if anyone were to find it and want to resurrect it, it would still be there.

Moving to the right, the opening into the "other" half of the kitchen was only created after my grandad died, the floor under the opening is simply concrete and I'll somehow need to make it match the rest of the floor which is red tiles, can't be seen right now because of the laminate which will be removed at the end. Beyond is what used to be a very narrow kitchen, that will be worked on when I've completed this side, the cooker will remain where it is, and the door which leads to a small space under the stairs will as plans currently stand remain in use.

Knocked through kitchen

So this next image is simply facing the other way, the door you can see, actually goes to the next door property from the time the house used to be one large house, but the door was nailed shut decades ago, when the property was "divided" into 3 separate houses, and when I say nailed shut, it really has simply been nailed shut, with large nails. Like the little cupboard door, the plan is to plaster over this door to make it part of the wall, I will be removing the decorative part of the door frame.

Wall and door

Last image of the before I started set, I didn't take one of the wall with the window and that's all there was to that, a wall with a window in it....

The dresser was removed from the room shortly after I took this, the door to the right of the dresser opens to a small pantry, the pantry has been built over the stairs down to the cellar, the intention is to keep this small pantry as it is very useful and practical. What can't be seen here is a small window behind the dresser, the window looks out over the steps down to the cellar, presumably to provide some light, since the window's already been painted over, it is going to be boarded over as it serves no purpose.
